2027 4-star athlete Tramond Collins decommits from Florida
Cottondale (Fla.) four-star 2027 athlete Tramond Collins has decommitted from Florida, he told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Sunday.
Collins committed to the Gators back in June, but that decision came with the previous staff under Billy Napier. Earlier this week, he told GatorsOnline that it didn’t affect his commitment, but ultimately he has backed out of the class.
“It doesn’t really change anything for me on a serious level,” Collins told Gators Online. “I know a little bit about the new head coach at Florida. I know he was at Tulane, and I was actually offered by Tulane already. They were recruiting me before I committed and before the new offers I’ve gotten. I’m familiar a little bit with Coach Sumrall, but I’m not gonna say that he and I are really close or tight like that right now. I know he didn’t keep Coach Billy Gonzales, and that was tough for me to see. I’m still trying to think about what to do next. I haven’t really made a real decision on that yet. I’m still deciding about all that, but I’m still committed. Some things are making me think, but I haven’t decided anything serious yet.”
At the time of his first commitment, Collins held offers from the Gators as well as Auburn, Kentucky, Auburn, South Florida and aa host of other programs.
