2027 ATH Angelo Smith, younger brother of Ohio State star Jeremiah Smith, commits to Buckeyes

The Smith family legacy will continue at Ohio State, as 2027 three-star athlete Angelo Smith has committed to the Buckeyes.
Angelo, the younger brother of All-American wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, primarily plays on the defensive side of the ball at Chaminade-Madonna (Fla.), where he brother also starred. Through three games as a junior, Angelo has totaled 18 tackles and interception.
That comes on the heels of a standout sophomore campaign where he totaled 40 tackles, three INTs and nearly a dozen pass breakups for the Lions.
The 5-foot-8, 160-pounder chose Ohio State over early offers from Miami, Georgia State, Oklahoma State, Akron and others. He visited the Buckeyes for their season-opening win over Texas and is obviously quite familiar with the program due to his brother.

But Smith is a talented prospect in his own right.
He ranks as the nation’s No. 533 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services. Smith also checks in as the nation’s No. 29 athlete and No. 66 junior prospect in the Sunshine State.
With more than a year until signing day for the junior class, he is the third commitment for the Buckeyes in 2027 joining five-star wide receiver Jamier Brown and and four-star quarterback Brady Edmunds.
