Albany (Ga.) Westover three-star interior offensive lineman Kyson Mallard has committed to Georgia, he tells UGASports’ Jed May.

He pledged to the Bulldogs while visiting Athens this weekend and becomes the third member of UGA’s 2027 recruiting class.

Mallard is the No. 388 overall prospect and No. 27 IOL in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 47 junior in the Peach State.

The likes of Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Pitt have offered Mallard, but he’s ready to lock in with head coach Kirby Smart and Co. The Dawgs continue to recruit the trenches well when it comes to in-state linemen.

Mallard joins a pair of Golden State recruits in the junior class for Georgia thus far. Long Beach Poly four-star cornerback Donte Wright committed at the end of June, a few weeks after Mater Dei three-star wide receiver Gavin Honore did the same.

The Bulldogs offered Mallard while he was on a visit back in March. As he continued to stack Power Four offers, UGA OL coach Stacy Searels and Co. got him back to campus and have now landed his commitment.

More on Georgia Recruiting

Looking at the 2026 class in Athens, Georgia is en route to signing another elite haul. With 31 senior commits in the fold to date, the class currently ranks No. 2 in the nation, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Of those 31 commits, four are offensive linemen. Headlining the quartet is South Garner (N.C.) four-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko, the No. 49 overall prospect and No. 6 OT in the cycle. He, like many others, committed to the Bulldogs in June.

Flanking Ogboko is Buford (Ga.) four-star IOL Graham Houston, Carrollton (Ga.) three-star IOL Zykie Helton and Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett three-star Zachary Lewis.

In total, seven top-100 overall prospects are in the class. UGA beat Oregon for Nashville Christian Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Jared Curtis, the nation’s top-ranked QB. He’s one of two five-stars in the class alongside Bowdon (Ga.) tight end Kaiden Prothro, the No. 3 TE in the cycle.

Other elite prospects in the fold include: Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick, Ogboko, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County four-star safety Jordan Smith, Brownsville (Tenn.) Haywood four-star cornerback Caden Harris, Clemmons (N.C.) West Forsyth four-star defensive lineman PJ Dean and Mansfield (Ohio) Lexington four-star TE Brayden Fogle.
