Many of the perennial college football powers have extended an offer to Jackson (Minn.) County Central Senior four-star athlete Roman Voss. On Wednesday, he trimmed his list of top schools all the way down to two.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound playmaker told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he’s down to Alabama and Minnesota. He’ll now choose between the home-state program and the longtime SEC powerhouse.

Voss is the No. 164 overall prospect and No. 8 athlete in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Minnesota.

On3 ranks him higher than other recruiting services. Voss checks in as the No. 114 overall recruit and No. 6 ATH in the 2026 On300.

“Roman Voss looks like one of the top jumbo athletes in the 2026 cycle early on. Twitched up 6-foot-4, 210 QB/DB in high school who could project at several positions,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power previously wrote of the four-star.

The likes of Miami, Iowa, Nebraska and UCLA were other programs pushing for Voss, a do-it-all star at the high school level who plays on both sides of the ball, including quarterback, tight end, linebacker and safety. Jackson High finished 11-0 in 2024 and ranked as the No. 15 team in Minnesota, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.

Alabama offered in March during a visit and immediately jumped on Voss’ radar. Minnesota has officially been in the mix since last June. Voss has visited both programs this spring and will now work towards a decision between the two.
