4-star edge rusher Khamari Brooks names his top two schools

Bogart (Ga.) North Oconee four-star EDGE Khamari Brooks is down to Alabama and Georgia, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday.
Brooks took official visits with each program over the past two weekends, and had trips scheduled to both Texas and USC. But both of those are now canceled as he focus on the pair of SEC rivals.
Those two have been at the top of his recruitment for months now.
“I am kind of focused on Alabama and Georgia right now,” Brooks told On3’s Chad Simmons in early April. “Both are great programs, they have been winning for a long time and they have great coaches. It is neck and neck between those two at the top for me right now. Neither school has the edge for me right now. It is very close between Alabama and Georgia.”
The Peach State native starred on both sides of the ball for North Oconee, helping lead them to a state championship in 2024. He finished his junior campaign with 31 receptions, 569 yards and nine touchdowns on offense. Defensively, he totaled 131 tackles, 24 quarterback hurries, 17 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two defensive touchdowns.
Both programs see him as a game-breaking pass-rusher at the next level. And both continue to make a strong impression on him.

Georgia pushing to keep Brooks inside the state
One of the biggest messages for Brooks when he visits Georgia is that the best in the state play for the Bulldogs. And they’ve made the No. 104 overall prospect nationally feel like a top priority, including on his recent official visit.
“One of the biggest highlights was spending time with family and seeing the love they were showing them,” he told Simmons. “Another was my meetings with the coaches and the great talks we had. Also was getting to spend time around the players was something else that stood out.”
As for the Crimson Tide, they’re hoping his relationship with assistant Christian Robinson — as well as their elite development — can help them steal one from UGA.
“My favorite thing about Alabama is my relationship with Coach Robinson,” Brooks said. “He has been recruiting me hard from the beginning and he has never slowed down. We have gotten closer and closer over time.”
