4-star QB Colton Nussmeier sidelined with a knee injury

Four-star quarterback Colton Nussmeier suffered a right knee injury on Friday that is going to sideline the touted 2027 prospect for a few weeks.
Nussmeier, the Rivals Industry Ranking No. 4 QB in the 2027 recruiting class, sustained the injury to his knee during the second quarter of Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus‘s Friday night contest vs. Denton (Texas) Guyer. He did not return to the game.
The blue-chipper tells Rivals that he suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain, which is expected to keep him sidelined for “a couple of weeks.”
“A lot will depend on how my body reacts,” Nussmeier told Rivals.
Nussmeier’s Marauders are 3-4 on the season with three more games left in the regular season.
The door is still open for a return, potentially, in the postseason.
Through 7 contests, the 4-star QB has completed 60 percent of his passes for 1,390 yards with 12 touchdowns compared to one interception. Nussmeier is averaging almost 14 YPC and has added another 278 yards with 3 TD rushing this season.
