4-star RB Kaydin Jones sets commitment date

One of the top prospects in the Sooner State is set to come off the board later this month.

On Tuesday, Jenks (Okla.) four-star running back Kaydin Jones announced on X that he’s set to commit on March 26. Kansas, Louisville, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are the five schools at the top of his list.

Jones is the No. 321 overall prospect and No. 23 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Oklahoma.

Last month, Jones told On3 that he’s locked in official visits to Vanderbilt (May 30), Kansas (June 6), Louisville (June 13) and Oklahoma (June 20). The 6-foot, 170-pound playmaker is an Oklahoma legacy. No program has had him on campus more than Brent Venables‘.

“When I make my decision, development is my biggest thing. I am looking for development as a player and I can see that at each of these programs. That is why I am excited about these five schools,” Jones said earlier this year.

When speaking with On3’s Chad Simmons last month, Jones discussed his interest in the programs that he’s set OVs to:

Kansas: “It is about how they have been recruiting. They put a lot of effort in and that boosted them up my list. They are asking little things and that sets them off from others. The visit was big too.”

Louisville: “The staff is the big reason for Louisville. I love coach Brohm and coach Barclay. The campus is nice too.”

Oklahoma: “It is the hometown school, my dad played there and they have been on me hard since freshman year. Coach Murray is great too. Some would say he is the best recruiter out there. Bringing in coach Arbuckle has my attention too.”

Vanderbilt: “Like Tennessee, it is SEC ball at Vanderbilt. There, they are working their way up the SEC and I feel I could go in, be a day one guy and help them get to where they are working to get and help them compete.”
