4-star WR Davion Brown sets Maryland official visit

Richmond (Va.) Trinity Episcopal four-star wide receiver Davion Brown is one of the many recruits that backed off a commitment to Penn State once the school fired head coach James Franklin.
Now one of the top uncommitted prospects still on the board with National Signing Day just two weeks away, Brown is giving other programs a look. This weekend, he’ll take an official visit to Maryland.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder announced the news via social media on Tuesday evening:
Brown’s recruitment hasn’t been in overdrive since he decided to decommit from PSU. Other former Nittany Lion pledges have already landed elsewhere, while many are now giving Virginia Tech a look now that the program has hired Franklin. The Terrapins would love to add the blue-chipper to the fold.
Kansas State, West Virginia and Wisconsin have jumped in the mix with offers since Brown decommitted. Maryland was already on the offer list and will now get a chance to make a splash in the coming days when it takes on Michigan in College Park.
Brown is the No. 220 overall prospect and No. 38 wide receiver in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 recruit in Virginia.

Baltimore St. Frances Academy Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Zion Elee has been committed to the local Terps since Dec. 7 and he continues to re-affirm his pledge with National Signing Day right around the corner. He’s now the No. 3 overall prospect nationally.
“I’m staying locked in with Maryland,” Elee told Rivals in August. “The relationship I have with the coaches is pretty tight. Obviously, we are still building because I still talk to them on a constant basis.”
Elee remains the lone blue-chipper committed to Maryland this cycle. He’s also one of nine DMV prospects in the fold. The class currently ranks No. 53 nationally and No. 14 in the Big Ten, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Other top commits in the class include: Barnesville (Ga.) Lamar County three-star linebacker Kaden Carter, Willis (Texas) three-star interior offensive lineman Day’jon Moore, Potomac (Md.) Bullis School three-star tight end Javonte Williams, St. Frances Academy three-star cornerback Hakim Satterwhite and Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic three-star safety Darrell Carey — another former Penn State pledge.
