5-star EDGE Anthony Jones gets special delivery recruiting pitch from Alabama fan

Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s Episcopal five-star EDGE Anthony “Tank” Jones is the top-ranked prospect in the state of Alabama this cycle. He also happens to be the biggest target left on the board for Alabama football this summer.
The Crimson Tide is battling Oregon and Texas A&M for the 6-foot-3, 245-pounder. Jones knows he’s wanted in Tuscaloosa and the Bama faithful continue to hammer that home.
On Monday evening, Jones took to his Instagram story to show a message he received via a Wingstop delivery:
“First time using my real name on DoorDash and they write this on the bag,” Jones wrote, showing the message “Roll Tide” below his name.
Over the weekend, Jones caught up with Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett to talk about each of his three finalists. He tabbed Bama as the team standing out the most right now and dove into what he loves about the in-state SEC juggernaut:

“I’ve been an Alabama fan since I was born,” Jones said. “Just being on campus and seeing the atmosphere, it’s just been great. I’ve always wanted to do it and play for them. The new staff they’ve got, I’ve built great relationships with them, especially Coach C-Rob. He’s been with me since day one, since he got there. That bond has been locked in ever since. The system they’ve got also, I feel like I can be in that system. Also, they’re a great fit for me for life after football because I know they’ll take care of me forever.”
Jones is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 4 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He checked in at No. 18 overall in the initial Rivals300 on Monday.
Scout’s Take on Anthony Jones
Rivals’ scouting and rankings team previously wrote this of Jones as a prospect:
“The Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s star was outstanding off the edge as a sophomore, racking up over 100 tackles and 10 sacks. Jones is a strong, athletic defender who shows the ability to run sideline to sideline and finish plays at a high rate. He also sports a very strong track profile, winning a state title in the shot put as a freshman.”
