Alabama offers Maryland safety commit Khmari Bing

Baltimore St. Frances Academy three-star safety Khmari Bing is the longest-tenured commit in Maryland’s 2026 class. He chose the local Terrapins on on Aug. 5 last summer.
The 6-foot, 170-pounder has kept his recruitment open and kept contact with other programs since, though. On Tuesday evening, he added a notable offer from Alabama.
The Crimson Tide have tapped into the Maryland high school football powerhouse already this cycle as it landed a huge commitment from St. Frances five-star safety Jireh Edwards last month. It could now make a push for Edwards’ teammate at the same position.
Bing checks in as the No. 97 safety and No. 27 player in Maryland this cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 1,078 overall prospect.
Miami and Tennessee are two other schools that have pushed for Bing this year. When speaking with CaneSport’s Stephen Wagner back in May, Bing maintained that Maryland was still his top program, though.
While playing alongside Edwards in the SEC would be no-doubt intriguing for Bing, he’s also got plenty of ties to the Terps. Maryland’s 2026 class is, of course, headlined by St. Frances Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Zion Elee, the nation’s No. 1 recruit. St. Frances three-star cornerback Hakim Satterwhite and three-star tight end Damon Hall are also locked in with the in-state program.
St. Frances made a major statement in its season-opener last week. The Panthers thumped Florida power Chaminade-Madonna 42-13 and now rank as the No. 3 team nationally, per the Massey Ratings. Another big test is en route next week as they take on St. John Bosco (Calif.).

Alabama has standout DB class
Head coach Kalen DeBoer and the Tide have recruited well once again in the 2026 cycle. To date, Alabama has 21 commits and a class that ranks No. 7 nationally, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Edwards, the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the cycle, is one of four five-stars in the class and one of nine top-100 commits. The secondary haul is impressive in Tuscaloosa.
“I love Alabama. Alabama is one of those schools. I feel like I’m going to be there for a long time,” Edwards told Rivals’ Marcus Benjamin earlier this week. “I don’t believe in the transfer portal. They’re heavy on communication with me. I talk with the coaches every day. I feel like we got a natty coming, especially when I get there.”
Behind Edwards is Marietta (Ga.) Sprayberry five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds, the No. 29 recruit and No. 3 corner nationally. Gadsden City (Ala.) four-star CB Zyan Gibson is also in the mix as the No. 9 corner and No. 4 recruit in Alabama. Cincinnati Winton Woods three-star safety Rihyael Kelly flipped from Rutgers in June.
