There’s no shortage of buzz around Alabama on the recruiting trail right now, as the Crimson Tide came into the day as the only program in the country with three five-stars committed.

Leaving the day, they’ll be the lone school with four. Wednesday afternoon, Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell wideout Cederian Morgan made it official and announced for Alabama over Auburn, Florida, and dozens of other programs.

He joins a trio of other five-stars in the Tide’s class, along with Sprayberry (Ga.) cornerback Jorden Edmonds, Gainesville (Ga.) linebacker Xavier Griffin, and Jackson (Ala.) running back Ezavier Crowell. His addition also pushes Alabama from No. 8 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings all the way up to No. 6. In the process, they leap over Clemson and LSU; they’re now just a few tenths of a point behind Ohio State for the No. 5 spot.

Morgan was another signature win for head coach Kalen DeBoer, as the Tide over took perceived early leader Auburn and carried the momentum for months until decision day.

“I get to stay home and play for the in-state school that I grew up a fan of,” he told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “It is a great feeling. This was like a dream for me. I have been there so many times and Alabama is home for me.”

The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder is the eighth five-star to commit to DeBoer since he took over in January 2024, a list that begin with Five-Star Plus+ wideout Ryan Williams and continues with another in-state star receiver in Morgan.

Alabama looking for more big additions in the coming days

July is off to a strong start for the Tide with the commitments of Morgan and high-upside three-star Brian Williams.

Even more good news is expected before the end of the weekend, though. Alabama is considered the heavy favorites for elite defensive lineman Nolan Wilson, as well as five-star safety Jireh Edwards.

Three picks have now been logged in favor of the Crimson Tide landing the defensive back. Auburn has built a pipeline with St. Frances Academy, while Georgia has kept its foot on the gas with Edwards this summer. Neither will give up in the lead-up to his decision, but arrows are currently pointing toward Tuscaloosa with Edwards set to announce July 5.

Wilson, meanwhile, checks in as one of the nation’s top five defensive lineman. Alabama, Auburn, Miami and Ole Miss are his final four schools, but the Mississippi native is trending toward the Tide.
