Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Miss.) offensive tackle Jarmaine Mitchell has flipped his commitment from Georgia to Arizona State.

Pledged to the Bulldogs since Oct. 31, the 6-foot-8, 320-pound trench monster now has his sights set on Tempe ahead of National Signing Day.

Mitchell is the top-ranked JUCO prospect this cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He becomes one of the top commits for Arizona State regardless of classification.

The Vacherie (La.) St. James product was unranked coming out of high school in the 2023 cycle. He’s now headed to the next level in 2026 and his recruitment has been windy down the stretch this fall.

Mississippi State, which often dips into the JUCO ranks to find talent, originally nabbed his commitment in August. That stuck until the end of October, when a big push from Georgia resulted in him flipping to the Bulldogs in Athens.

Mitchell looked to ready to ink with UGA, but Arizona State extended an offer at the end of November and got him to campus for an official visit last weekend. Now, Kenny Dillingham and the Sun Devils have added a big piece to their 2026 class.

With the addition of Mitchell, Arizona State now has 19 commits in its class and checks in at No. 32 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. That’s good for No. 3 in the Big 12.

Mitchell’s rating puts him at No. 2 in the Sun Devils’ class, behind only El Paso (Texas) Del Valle four-star quarterback Jake Fette, the crown jewel of the pledge list. Fette has been committed to ASU since Sept. 22, 2024. He’s remained rock-solid with the program and is now the No. 106 recruit and No. 8 QB in the nation.

Mitchell isn’t the only JUCO recruit in the mix, either. Over the weekend, ASU landed defensive lineman Kirtland Vakalahi, an Australian who’s headed to Tempe from Roswell, N.M. Back in June, Garden City CC offensive tackle Siosaia Lapuaho committed.

A trio of other blue-chip high school recruits help headline the class alongside Fette: Thousand Oaks (Calif.) four-star tight end Hayden Vercher, Cibolo (Texas) Steele four-star EDGE Julian Hugo and Humble (Texas) Atascocita four-star running back Cardae Mack.
