āFrom talking to sources with knowledge of Porterās recruitment, Michigan State is currently trending as the team best positioned with the talented defensive lineman,ā Spiegelman wrote on Oct. 17. āPorter isnāt expected to make a final decision until the Under Armour All-America Game in January 2023, which certainly opens up the door for other contenders to enter the picture. Miami, Arkansas and Baylor have all kept tabs on Porter and could pose some competition to the Spartans with another talented 2023 target.ā
The Spartans received an official visit from Porter on Oct. 7. Michigan State and TCU are the only finalists to receive a visit from the Lone Star State native.
