Auburn, FSU, Florida highlight most impactful recruiting flips in June

Recruiting jumps to another level in June, with official visits beginning in earnest and lots of major commitments, decommitments and flips kicking off a frantic summer.
This one was no different, as some of the nation’s elite prospects announced their decisions — or backed off ones they had previously made. And some of the latter have already found a new home elsewhere.
Dozens of blue-chippers changed their allegiances over the past month, but these are the 10 most impactful flips in June:
Jaden O’Neal – Florida State
It’s hard to overstate how badly Mike Norvell and Co. need a strong 2026 class after their struggles on the field last fall. They closed out the 2025 cycle with some huge lands, and look to be keeping that momentum going into this year. At the heart of that was landing a quarterback for this class, and the ‘Noles struck out on a handful of them early on before landing on former Oklahoma commit Jaden O’Neal as their guy. They brought him in for an official visit, and while the Sooners looked elsewhere for a second QB pledge, they flipped O’Neal as part of a huge June that now sees them ranked No. 12 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Jett Thomalla – Alabama
Alabama got what many considered to be its quarterback of the future last cycle with Keelon Russell. But Kalen DeBoer is looking to add some depth in 2026 to keep things rolling. Like FSU, Alabama struck out on its efforts with a few other passers, but ultimately pushed hard for Iowa State commit Jett Thomalla. After an official visit to Tuscaloosa, he decommitted from the Cyclones and joined up with the Crimson Tide. Now they’re on the hunt for another major quarterback target in On300 passer Tayden Kaawa.
Caden Harris – Georgia
Kirby Smart silenced everyone who said he’d lost his recruiting edge in the month of June. Georgia ascended from outside the top 10 to the No. 2 spot in the updated team rankings after getting 14 commitments this month. Few were bigger than Harris, who ranks as a top-10 player at his position.
“The coaches at Georgia prepare their guys for the league and that is my goal,” he told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “The coaches know defense and they know how to teach great technique.”
Emanuel Tucker – LSU
The Tigers have been building in the trenches under Brian Kelly and OL coach Brad Davis — as well as anyone in the country. And Mississippi is a place that has been kind to them in recent years. Last cycle they landed four-star Tyler Miller out of the ‘Sip, and in this class, one of their biggest targets was Emanuel Tucker. At one time committed to Mississippi State, he moved from the Bulldogs’ class to LSU’s and gives them one of the nation’s best offensive tackle duos with him and four-star Brysten Martinez.
Devin Carter – Florida State
Carter is an FSU legacy and the son of former ‘Noles star running back Dexter Carter. He was an early pledge to Mike Norvell, but backed off that and eventually committed to Auburn. But FSU continued to pursue him, and he never stopped listening. The buzz around him flipping existed for months. However, his official visit pushed things over the top and he made the decision to join up with one of the fastest-rising classes in the country and give Jaden O’Neal another very good target in the receiving game.
Peyton Falzone – Auburn
The Tigers desperately needed some good news this month after losing both Carter and four-star linebackers Shadarius Toodle and JaMichael Garrett. Hugh Freeze and Co. sat in the 70s of the team recruiting rankings after those decisions, and also didn’t have a quarterback commitment. Behind the scenes, they worked to get Falzone, who had been committed to Penn State for a few months. He was one of two passers pledged to the Nittany Lions and ultimately jumped at the chance to be Auburn’s No. 1 guy.

Shadarius Toodle – Georgia
Georgia turned up the heat in a big way on Toodle this spring, flipping him after he was committed to Auburn for nearly a year. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder took an official visit to UGA on the weekend of May 16 and Kirby Smart’s program picked up momentum from there.
”After I left my official visit, I knew it was Georgia,” he told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “I had been to Auburn so many times, and I liked it a lot, but my feeling at Georgia was different. I never had that feeling at Auburn. That is when I knew.”
CJ Bronaugh – Florida
Much like their rivals in Tallahassee, Florida has been on a recruiter tear over the past six weeks. Billy Napier and Co. have parlayed the momentum they closed out the season with onto the trail and already have secured 14 commitments as we close out June. The highest-rated one in their class is Bronaugh, who they spent multiple months trying to poach from Nebraska. Getting him on campus the weekend of June 13 ultimately proved to be the commitment-buster, as Bronaugh announced his flip five days later.
Vance Spafford – Miami
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Spafford was one of Georgia’s earliest commitments in this class, giving his verbal back in November 2024. The Hurricanes were one of a few schools who never relented on him, though. USC and Colorado were some of the others involved, but ultimately a spring visit to Miami made the difference.
“Miami has been on my mind pretty heavily for a while,” Spafford told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “I have been down there a few times and when I was there for three days in the spring, they made a big impression on me. It is one of my few visits where it was nothing but smiles. It was all positivity down there. That feeling stayed with me.”
Bryson Beaver – Oregon
At this time a month ago, Beaver was committed to Boise State and only had major interest from other Group of Five programs. But his recruiting quickly jumped into hyperdrive as Oregon, Ole Miss, LSU and others got in the mix for the talented signal-caller. He decommitted from the Broncos prior to him being one of the top performers in the Elite 11 Finals. After three days in LA, he took an official visit to Oregon and eventually made the call to join up with the Ducks.
