Amidst a red-hot stretch on the recruiting trail this spring, Clemson landed a commitment from Jacksonville Bolles School four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs on March 8.

The talented 5-foot-10.5, 180-pounder has been the top commit on the Tigers’ pledge list since. He’s now set to fully lock in with the ACC program. On Monday, he told Nate Gravender that his recruitment is now shut down.

There hadn’t been much talk surrounding Burroughs since he came off the board, though his offer list suggested that some of the other high-profile programs wouldn’t give up on him this fall. Burroughs clearly isn’t entertaining anything that’s not Clemson right now.

He is the No. 71 overall prospect and No. 7 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 11 player in Florida.

Rivals ranks Burroughs higher than other recruiting services. Following the release of the updated Rivals300 earlier this month, the pass-catcher now checks in as the No. 31 recruit and No. 3 WR.

“First I want to give all the glory to God! Coach Swinney and Coach Grish are amazing coaches! They have a strong foundation and I want to be apart of that! Go tigers,” Burroughs wrote on X, announcing his pledge this spring.

As a junior for Bolles, Burroughs caught 33 passes in nine games, totaling 829 yards and 12 touchdowns, per MaxPreps. His high school career has witnessed over 2,500 receiving yards and 34 TDs. Bolles won 10 games in 2024, ranking as the No. 30 team in the state, per the Rivals Composite.

Clemson’s 2026 class currently ranks No. 12 in the nation, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The receiving haul is impressive for head coach Dabo Swinney and Co.

Burroughs is one of three blue-chip receivers in the class, alongside Purcellville (Va.) Bullis School four-star Connor Salmin and Charlotte Providence Day four-star Gordon Sellars. Salmin is a top-200 prospect and the No. 25 WR, while Sellars checks in as the nation’s No. 34 receiver.

Scout’s Take on Naeem Burroughs

Rivals National Scout Cody Bellaire previously wrote this of Burroughs as a prospect:

“Naeem Burroughs is the biggest get in Clemson’s class. The Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles School standout currently ranks as the No. 2 wide receiver prospect in the 2026 cycle, according to Rivals. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder is a refined, dynamic pass-catcher with the ability to threaten all areas of the field. He pairs 10.66-second long speed with burst off the line and wiggle within his routes. Burroughs has large hands and is strong at the catch point. The ball skills and tracking ability are very good, especially for a sub 6-foot wideout. He’s also very dangerous after the catch and tough to bring down in the open field, flashing lateral agility, power, and the speed to pull away.”
