5-star WR Cederian Morgan visited by Colorado

Colorado is looking to play spoiler in another high-profile recruitment. Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan is one of, if not the top target for the Buffaloes moving forward in the 2026 cycle.
The star pass-catcher was in Boulder two weekends ago for the first official visit of his recruitment. That trip made an impact on his process and the CU staff is keeping their foot on the gas.
On Monday, Colorado director of recruiting Darrius Darden-Box went to Benjamin Russell High, the home of Morgan:
Coming out of his OV, Morgan caught up with On3’s Steve Wiltfong and gave a glowing review of his time in the mountains:
“I had a great time,” he said. “They got a great shot. That was my first time being there. I really enjoyed it.”
“Just getting in there knowing I can play early and build my brand and being up under Coach Prime and the other coaches on the staff,” he added. “That could be an easy path for me to get to the NFL.”
Morgan is the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 3 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Alabama.
Colorado battling the big dogs in Morgan’s recruitment
There is a heap of competition for the Buffs in Morgan’s recruitment. Clemson, Florida, Auburn and Alabama each also have OVs on deck this summer. Georgia is also in the mix. Pulling Morgan out of his home state won’t be easy — Alabama is currently trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

He also recently told On3 that he’ll announce his commitment on July 2. With less than two months to go, every interaction is important.
“I am taking my time with everything,” Morgan told On3’s Chad Simmons back in the fall. “A lot of schools are recruiting me hard, so many are making me feel like a top priority and it is great to hear from schools every day…”
“I don’t care if I stay in state or go out of state. I am going to take my time, sort things out and see where I need to be. Communication is really big for me. Playing for coaches that can help me get to the next level is big too.”
Colorado now has two commits in its 2026 recruiting class after landing a pledge from South Elgin (Ill.) three-star tight end Gavin Mueller last week. Last cycle, the Buffs signed the nation’s No. 35 class, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
