Colorado offers Oklahoma 4-star WR commit Daniel Odom

The Colorado coaching staff continues to send out a wave of big-time offers as spring turns to summer. Deion Sanders and Co. are identifying top targets and looking to make another big splash this cycle.
As blue-chippers flock to Boulder for official visits, the Buffaloes are looking to snatch momentum on the recruiting trail. On Thursday, a four-star announced that he’s the latest to land an offer from the Big 12 program.
Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star wide receiver Daniel Odom committed to Oklahoma at the end of January. While he remains pledged to the Sooners, the pass-catcher has continued to look elsewhere.
Washington (May 30) and Florida State (June 6) are each set to get Odom on campus for an official visit in the coming weeks. The Sooners will also land an OV next month. Can Colorado enter the mix following an offer this week?
“I am committed to Oklahoma and I would say I am 100-percent committed,” Odom told On3’s Chad Simmons in March. “But I always want to keep my eyes open to other things out there to make sure I am making the right decision. It is about what fits me best and I don’t want to have any regrets in the recruiting process. So, I want to keep building relationships and I want to take some more visits.”
The Buffaloes signed three blue-chip wide receivers in the 2025 cycle: Pflugerville (Texas) Weiss four-star Adrian Wilson (transferred to North Carolina), Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley four-star Quentin Gibson and Spring (Texas) North Shore four-star Quanell Farrakhan Jr.
Odom is the No. 259 overall prospect and No. 43 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 26 player in California.

Colorado landed key target earlier this week
On Wednesday, South Elgin (Ill.) three-star tight end Gavin Mueller announced his commitment to Colorado, choosing it over LSU, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. He’s just the second pledge in the 2026 class for CU, joining Calabasas (Calif.) EDGE Domata Peko Jr., the son of CU coach Domata Peko.
Mueller is the No. 516 overall prospect and No. 22 TE in the cycle. He also excels in shot put at the high school level.
Boulder has been filled with elite recruits logging official visits this month. Sanders and the CU staff have signed light classes the previous two cycles, and while that’s expected to be similar this cycle, there are myriad blue-chippers considering the Buffs heading into the summer.
Mansfield (Texas) Lake Ridge five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo, IMG Academy (Fla.) four-star duo in IOL Breck Kolojay and EDGE Jake Kruel, Windsor (Colo.) four-star OT Deacon Schmitt, Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan and Lucas (Texas) Panther Creek four-star athlete Jalen Lott are among the top targets that have logged visits.
