Drake Maye says why he attended Massachusetts high school football game

After the New England Patriots’ 31-13 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon, quarterback Drake Maye was asked after the game on why he randomly attended the Massachusetts high school football matchup between Xaverian Brothers and Catholic Memorial.
Both Catholic Memorial and Xaverian Brothers had entered last week as the No. 2 and 7 teams in Massachusetts, according to the Massey Ratings. The Hawks ended up winning the Friday night thriller, 25-22.
“I heard it was a big game in a local area,” Maye said via a MassLive.com report. “I think two State Champions playing. Just trying to support (them). It brings me back to those days when I was playing. It was pretty cool to see them out there and I guess there was a bunch of Patriots fans because it was a pretty good crowd. So, it was a good game.”
Maye in his second season as the Patriots’ full-time starter are now 5-2 on the season after the win over Tennessee.
