2026 DL Jamir Perez commits to Florida

Cleveland Glenville three-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez has committed to Florida, he tells On3.
He chose the Gators while on his official visit in Gainesville this weekend. Perez was also considering Vandy, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Ohio State and others.
The 6-foot-4, 330-pounder is the No. 657 overall prospect and No. 65 DL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 26 player in Ohio.
Head coach Billy Napier and the UF staff have their latest big pickup coming off a monster recruiting weekend in The Swamp. Perez was blown away during his time on campus and is now in the boat for the SEC program.

“It was great,” Perez told On3 about the OV. “I love the visit. Great players, great coaches. Love it. What I really take away is just the greatness of Florida and knowing Coach Chatman and Coach Patt deal with big dudes like me all the time, and the players they coached are successful, so it’s just a great experience for me and I love it.”
Perez becomes just the second commit for Florida this cycle, flanking Tampa Jesuit four-star quarterback Will Griffin, the No. 257 prospect and No. 17 QB in the nation. Griffin has been committed to the Gators since last June.
