Four-star ATH Khai Prean sets commitment date

The date is set for Khai Prean.

Prean, a top-10 athlete nationally in the On3 Consensus, has locked in a commitment date for Tuesday, August 16. The four-star do-it-all playmaker from Vacherie (La.) St. James will choose from LSU, Florida State, Auburn and Mississippi State as his senior season rapidly approaches.

Prean broke down each of his finalists here and is anxious to reveal his decision after a busy round of visits this spring and summer leading into this week’s reveal.

“The visits have been fun and it’s been going to places, seeing what they have to offer,” Prean told On3. “The last few weeks I’ve seen who really wants and who really wants me to succeed.”

Mississippi State was the first Power 5 program to extend an offer in the direction of Prean as an underclassman. He has made his way to Auburn and LSU for a handful of visits this offseason, including another stop back in Baton Rouge for the pool party at the end of July. Prean also recently unofficially visited Tallahassee to take a closer look at Florida State.

The in-state Tigers are leading the chase for Prean on the On3‘s Recruiting Prediction Machine. Prean is the No. 252 overall player in the nation regardless of position according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
