Brandon Bass Jr., a four-star combo guard in the 2026 class, has narrowed his list of schools down to five. Moving forward, the 6-foot-4 rising senior of Windermere Prep (FL) will consider Cincinnati, Florida State, LSU, Purdue, and UCF.

Bass, a native of Orlando, is ranked as the No. 89 overall player in the class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 3 combo guard and the No. 14 player in Florida.

Prior to cutting his list down, he also held offers from Illinois, St. John’s, Houston, USC, and others.

Brandon Bass Jr. is the son of former LSU Tiger and NBA player Brandon Bass.

Bass Jr. completed an official visit to Purdue in March. He has an official visit scheduled to Florida State for August 29th and says he plans to schedule one with LSU. He’s unofficially visited UCF and LSU.

Bass talks programs involved + what he’s looking for in a school

In a previous interview with Rivals, Bass discussed several — but not all — of the programs recruiting him.

Purdue: “I talk with the assistant coaches there a lot, and Coach (Matt) Painter has been to some of our practices. We’ve got a good relationship. They think I can come in and fit that Jaden Ivey-type role.”

UCF: “They have a great fan base there and the arena is great. I feel like everything they have is really nice. It looks like a great place to go and develop. They have a lot of guard play and they give their guards some freedom. The coaches have come out to our practices and they’ve been at our games. And they call me and text me. So I feel like our relationship continues to grow.”

LSU: “When I went on the visit, I saw that they are good on the basketball side, and not just football. They’re focusing on basketball. And with all the alumni they’ve had at the school, it could be a really good place to go. We have a great relationship. They call and we talk all the time. I feel like they have good, shifty guards with how they play.”

In that same previous interview with Rivals, Bass discussed what he wants in a future college program.

“When I go on those visits, I’m going to be looking for the best fit for me. And winning is a big deal for me. I want to go to a good school that is going to contend for March Madness because I really want to win.”
