Four-star CG Brandon Bass Jr., son of former NBA player Brandon Bass, commits to Florida State

Brandon Bass Jr., a four-star combo guard in the 2026 class, has committed to Florida State, he told Rivals.
The 6-foot-4 senior out of Windermere Prep (FL) is the No. 75 overall prospect in the class, according to Rivals. He’s also the No. 2 ranked combo guard and the No. 11 player in Florida.
Along with FSU, the native of Orlando also received offers from Purdue, Cincinnati, LSU, UCF, and others.
Bass Jr. is the son of former NBA player Brandon Bass, who played 12 years in the league for teams like the Hornets, Mavericks, Magic, Celtics, Lakers, and Clippers.
Bass becomes the fourth player to commit to new coach Luke Loucks and the Seminoles in the 2026 cycle. He joins four-star C Marcis Ponder (No. 58 NATL), four-star SF Collin Paul (No. 89 NATL), and two-sport athlete Jasen Lopez who also plans to play football.

Bass on his commitment to Florida State
Brandon Bass Jr. discussed his commitment to FSU with Rivals.
“I chose Florida State because it feels like home. I already live in Florida, so being close to family and support means a lot. On top of that, the program has a rich basketball tradition and an exciting future. I wanted to be a part of something special here.”
What led to his trust in the new coaching staff?
“The coaching staff’s experience really stood out to me. A lot of the new coaches came from the NBA, and that background means they know what it takes to play at the highest level. I trust that they can help me grow, not just as a college player but also prepare me for the next level.”
In his own words, what type of player is Florida State getting in Bass?
“I’d describe my game as versatile. I’m a shooting guard who can do a bit of everything, but my biggest strength is my shooting. I space the floor, create scoring opportunities, and also bring energy on both ends. I want to impact the game in every way I can.”
He has a message for Florida State fans.
“FSU fans can expect an exciting brand of basketball. I’m coming in ready to compete and make big shots, and with the talent we have plus the coaching staff’s vision, we’re going to do something special. I can’t wait to play in front of you all and bring energy to Tallahassee!”
