4-star cornerback Christian Gray sets commitment date

St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet cornerback Christian Gray hasn’t publicly named his top schools or taken official visits yet, but he does know when he wants to make a commitment.
Gray announced on social media Monday afternoon that he will announce his decision on July 4. It will also be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder is the No. 108 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 10 cornerback and the No. 4 junior in Missouri.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Notre Dame is currently the major favorite to land Gray. It gives the Fighting Irish an 81.2 percent chance of securing his commitment, with LSU trailing behind at 15.2 percent.
Gray tripped to both schools in the month of April, and made a separate trip to LSU in March. He also saw Alabama and Ohio State last month, as well as USC in January.

The Tigers have made a big push since hiring his former high school coach, Robert Steeples, as a defensive assistant this offseason.
“It’s at the top of my list,” Christian Gray told The Bengal Tiger’s Billy Embody. “Really, LSU has always been a school I’ve been watching. I just had to see it for myself in-person and once coach Kelly brought a real crew to LSU to change it around, I believe that’s why it made a big jump. It’s just I haven’t committed or anything, but I feel like that.”
LSU will have work to do over the next few months, though, as the Tigers and Notre Dame will both have him on campus for official visits. USC, Alabama and Ohio State are under consideration for the other three.
