Four-star PF Julius Avent visiting Michigan State this weekend

Julius Avent, a four-star small forward in the 2026 class, is taking an official visit to Michigan State this weekend, he told Rivals.
The 6-foot-7 rising senior of Bergen Catholic (NJ) included the Spartans in his top 5 schools earlier this month, along with Penn State, Providence, Seton Hall, and Xavier.
Avent, a native of Springfield, NJ, is ranked as the No. 76 overall player in the class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 11 power forward and the No. 2 player in Jersey.
Avent on Michigan State
In a previous interview with Rivals, Julius Avent discussed the Spartans.
Michigan State: “They’ve been on me a for long time. Since last year, they have been recruiting me. I finally got the offer after NBPA Top 100 Camp. They’re definitely a great program. And they been showing me a lot of love and how I can make an impact with them.”
Discussing his other finalists
In that same previous interview, Avent discussed the other schools he’s considering.
Penn State: “I think with the way they are able to have multiple play-makers on the court and the way they emphasize versatility, I would be able to play my game there in that system.”

Xavier: “Their style of play is very similar to mine. They like to get out in transition, they like to run a fast paced attack. They had offered me under the previous staff, then when coach Richard Pitino got there, they re-offered me. So, they talk to me a lot.”
Providence: “They offered me after Top 100 Camp. They’ve been to a lot of games on the live period, both with my high school team and with PSA. I like the fact that they are in the Big East. I like their style of play as well.”
Seton Hall: “If I end up staying home, they are a great choice. Obviously, there is some history over there with my family, so that’s cool. And, they have been on me heavy and talk to me a lot.”
