Georgia Tech has landed a major late-cycle addition with the commitment of Jordan Woods, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound EDGE rusher out of Pell City (Ala.). Woods, a former Jacksonville State pledge, took an official visit to Georgia Tech on Nov. 21 and has now announced his decision to join Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets officially offered Woods on Oct. 12, but their interest dates back much further. Woods camped at Georgia Tech during the summer and impressed the staff enough that they continued to monitor him through the fall.

“They showed some interest during the season and watched my games,” Woods told Rivals. “I sent them my midseason film, they came to the Virginia Tech game, and then they offered me.”

Once the offer arrived, Georgia Tech recruited him aggressively.

“They came hard,” Woods said. “Coach Pope talked or texted almost every day. I built a really good relationship with Coach Pope, Coach Key, and BG (Blake Gideon). It was consistent all the way.”

Woods made multiple trips to Atlanta, including summer camp and two game-day visits — Georgia Tech’s matchups against Virginia Tech and Pitt — which further solidified his comfort with the program.

One of the biggest factors was his connection with linebackers/EDGE coach Kyle Pope.

“I’m closest to Coach Pope. I love his passion and energy. He’s the kind of guy you want to play for. He’ll kill for his players. He’s passionate about his guys and about Georgia Tech. Off the field, he wants to be another father figure too.”

Woods also highlighted the atmosphere on campus and inside Bobby Dodd Stadium.

“It’s a crazy atmosphere. I love it in Atlanta. The fans are loud, and it’s a great environment. It helps the players lock in.”

In the end, the culture and comfort at Georgia Tech sealed his decision.

“I’m big on family, and Georgia Tech is a big brotherhood,” Woods said. “It starts with Coach Key and filters all the way down. The location is great, and I’ve got family around Atlanta. I’m very comfortable with the coaches and the Atlanta area. After my visits, it felt like home. And there’s a chance to play early.”

Woods is expected to play EDGE for the Yellow Jackets and he brings proven production to the Jackets’ 2026 class after recording nine sacks this season at Pell City.
