Godson Okokoh, 2027 stock riser, talks recruitment and offers

Godson Okokoh has opened eyes this season for Los Angeles (CA) So Cal Academy. The 6-foot-8 wing is originally from Ottawa, Canada.

“I’d say I can shoot, I’m great at shooting,” Okokoh told On3. “I can stretch the floor, rebound, play defense, and just help my team win. Whatever it takes to win. I’ve been focused on the details of my game, trying to improve my game in all parts.

“I watch a lot of Herb Jones, his activity level on defense and Jaden McDaniels how he affects the game and helps his team win.”

On3 caught up with Godson Okokoh after a recent live viewing to discuss the latest in his recruitment.

“I hold offers from Kansas, Arizona State, West Virginia, USC, and Creighton, right now,” Okokoh said. “I haven’t been on any campuses yet, but I’ll plan on doing those around next year.”

Okokoh talks schools

KANSAS: “I know that they’re winners, they do anything to win, and they have a good winning record this year.”

USC: “They’re in California, and that’s where I’m playing right now. They play hard, and they bring it every game. I’ve watched them play, they’re competitive and active.”

WEST VIRGINIA: “I got two teammates going to West Virginia. They’re a good program. My teammates have been telling me how hard they recruited them and how badly the coaches wanted them.”

CREIGHTON: “They’re a great university. They win a lot and they play hard. They do anything it takes to win.”

ARIZONA STATE: “They have a winning record. And the coaches that have been there. And they’re getting players.”

In Godson Okokoh’s words

“I want to go play for a coach who really believes in me and that likes me for me,” Okokoh said. “I’ll be looking to play for a program that is a family-oriented base.”
