Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central four-star safety Kaleb Elkins has a few game visits on the calendar for the fall.

The Hoosier State blue-chipper looks forward to getting out to Alabama, Indiana and Ohio State. He says he’ll add to the itinerary as his schedule allows.

Elkins will be in Columbus for the Buckeyes season opener against Texas.

“Ohio State produces pros and is always in contention for a championship,” Elkins said.

Elkins has always spoken highly of Ohio State.

“The history really excites me,” Elkins said. “They have a tradition of winning and getting guys to the league. I don’t like to lose, so I can appreciate a program that expects to win every time they play.”

Indiana is set for Sept. 20 when the Hoosiers host Illinois.

“I love the coaching staff at IU,” Elkins said. “I feel like we’ve really built a relationship over the past few months. It’s also right down the street.”

Alabama is set for Nov. 8 and the showdown against LSU. His teammate JJ Finch is a verbal to the Tide in the 2026 class.

“I know Bama has a history of winning and producing pros, but I’m anxious to get down there and learn more,” Elkins said. “Everyone keeps talking about how beautiful the campus is.”

Stats and coach speak on Kaleb Elkins

Beyond the programs mentioned, Purdue, Michigan, Arizona State, Tennessee, Kentucky, Penn State, Nebraska and Louisville have offered Elkins.

As a sophomore Elkins had 32 tackles, six interceptions and seven more passes defended. He also plays basketball and runs track.

Warren Central head coach JT Whitaker plans to use him on both sides of the ball this fall.

“He is a three-sport athlete who started on basketball team and jumps 22-plus feet on the track,” Whitaker said. “In football I love that he has the hitting ability of a safety and the cover ability of a top end corner. He is legit 6-2 with long arms and can windmill dunk a basketball. At wide receiver he has natural hands and is going to win most 50/50 balls.

“The dude is special. Best part is he is a great kid and student.”
