Kesean Bowman, one of nation's top 2027 WRs, decommits from Oregon
A little less than two months after he committed to Oregon, 2027 four-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman has backed off his pledge to the Ducks.
“I just wanted to explore a little bit more with my options,” Bowman told Rivals. “When I committed to Oregon, other schools started recruiting me harder, and I do think it was a little too early for me to commit.”
The Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy star chose UO over Ole Miss, Tennessee, Louisville, Michigan and more than a dozen offers back on July 24. It was a huge win at the time for Dan Lanning and his staff as they look to build another elite class in 2027.
The Ducks will remain a factor in this recruitment.
“Oregon is still high on my list, but I am going to take a step back, take more visits and look at the different schools that are recruiting me.”
He has already taken in games at Ohio State and Tennessee this season. Who all is on his radar?
“I am going to several places this season now,” Bowman said. “I will be at Texas, back to Tennessee, LSU, Miami, Vanderbilt, and Oregon

Bowman is the No. 51 overall prospect and No. 10 wide receiver in the junior class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.
Tennessee and Ohio State already impressed this fall
Tennessee is expected to be a strong contender in this race moving forward.
“Even though the game didn’t go their way, it was still one of the best visits I’ve had at Tennessee,” Bowman told Rivals. “The atmosphere was great — the fans were awesome too, and I liked the environment.
… “Watching Chris Brazzell have himself a day stood out. Seeing some of my old teammates was great too. The great conversations I had with Coach Pope also was a big highlight. Their message was just about how much they want me at Tennessee. I have been there over 10 times and I like Tennessee a lot.”
Bowman saw Ohio State knock off Texas in the season opener too.
“The atmosphere was crazy. Seeing the receivers work up close stood out. It was a short visit, but I liked it. I will definitely take an official visit to Ohio State.”
