Maryland stops by to see Dontae Russo-Nance, Bronson Schmidt-Uili

Guard Dontae Russo-Nance and forward/center Bronson Schmidt-Uili have been in the United States for less than three weeks. However, the pair from New Zealand is already garnering high major schools to come through Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy. Maryland was the latest school, coming in yesterday to see the pair.
Dontae Russo-Nance is a 2024 guard who played in the NBL last season for the Aukland Tuatara. The 6-foot-4 guard finished top ten in assists (4.4) and led the league in steals (2.9). As a 16-year-old playing in a professional league, he also averaged 15.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in helping to lead his team to the championship game.

Like Russo-Nance, Bronson Schmidt-Uili is a class of 2024 prospect. The 6-foot-11 post is expected to start for Oak Hill this season. Schmidt-Uili was a reserve for the New Zealand u17 men’s national team. He has great size and length, and he moves so well. The future four-star has a motor that runs hot and range that extends beyond the three-point line.
Schmidt-Uili recently picked up a Texas Tech offer, his first. Russo-Nance does not have any offers yet. Expect both players to debut among the top 50 when On3 next updates its 2024 rankings.
