Earlier this week, we shared game predictions based on the Massey Ratings for the biggest high school football games of the weekend. Today, Rivals national high school sports reporter Andy Villamarzo makes his picks:

No. 22 Bixby (OK) at Mustang (OK)

When: Tonight, Oct. 23, 8 p.m. ET
Where: Bronco Stadium, Mustang, OK.

Thursday night is taking place in the Sooner State as the Massey Ratings No. 2 ranked Bixby Spartans faces off against Mustang (5-2). The Broncos led by Florida State quarterback pledge Jaden O’Neal, who has thrown for well over 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns this fall. Bixby (8-0) counters with senior quarterback Carson Kirby, who gone for 1,604 yards, 24 touchdowns through the air. This game was moved up due to inclement weather in the area for Friday night. If anything else, this will be a very high scoring affair.

Prediction: Bixby 63, Mustang 32

Greenwich (Conn.) at New Canaan (Conn.)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 7 p.m. ET
Where: Coppo Field, New Canaan, Conn.

What could be the best Connecticut high school football matchup of the 2025 season, the Cardinals and Rams for the first time since 2021. Greenwich (5-0) in that last meeting came away with a 14-7 victory, but this year’s edition could truly go either way. New Canaan (5-0) has throughout the opening weeks been consistently Connecticut’s No. 1 ranked team. Both offenses have played well, but it will be the defenses that are challenged from the jump. Hard to go against the home team here, but. …

Prediction: Greenwich 21, New Canaan 18

St. John’s College (D.C.) at No. 12 DeMatha Catholic (Md.)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 7 p.m. ET
Where: Heurich Field, Hyattsville, Maryland

DeMatha Catholic (7-0) and St. John’s College (5-2) square off in the top battle on the DMV this week, featuring two perennial powerhouses. The Stags have some impressive victories under their belt this season, including against Good Counsel (Md.) and St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.). The Cadets are coming off a 17-13 loss to Good Counsel, which lost to DeMatha 7-0 back on Oct. 10. We give the edge to the home team here.

Prediction: DeMatha Catholic 28, St. John’s College 17

Thomas County Central (Ga.) at Houston County (Ga.)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m. ET
Where: Thomas County Stadium, Thomasville, Ga.

The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets (8-0) have been one of Georgia’s highest scoring offenses this season, averaging a cool 56 points per game. Nebraska commitment Jabari Watkins (30 catches, 490 yards) has been a problem for opposing defenses at wide receiver and he goes up a Houston County (7-0) team, which is led defensively by Georgia safety pledge Jordan Smith. Another game that could drum up a lot of points come Friday night.

Prediction: Thomas County Central 49, Houston County 28

Muscle Shoals (Ala.) at Hartselle (Ala.)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 8 p.m. ET
Where: J P Crane Stadium, Hartselle, Ala.

Muscle Shoals (9-0) and been stingy allowing points, with the strength is their defensive line, led by four-star Alabama commitment Kamhariyan Johnson. The Trojans have only given up 34 points all season long and they’ll look to slow down a Hartselle (8-0) offense led by senior running Jaheim Pruitt, who has rushed for well over 600 yards this fall. Both teams are undefeated and it’s the unstoppable force versus the immovable object. We nudge just a little bit towards Muscle Shoals, here, however.

Prediction: Muscle Shoals 18, Hartselle 14

Ensworth (Tenn.) at Baylor School (Tenn.)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 8 p.m. ET
Where: Heywood Stadium, Chattanooga, Tennessee

Baylor School (7-0) is the No. 1 team in the state of Tennessee and they proved so a couple weeks ago in a win over McCallie School. Ensworth (6-2), ranked as Tennessee’s No. 6 team, has been playing solid as well, with their only two losses coming to Nashville Christian and Brentwood Academy. Baylor features Louisville four-star quarterback commit Briggs Cherry, who guides an offense that’s averaging 44.2 points per game. It’s just really hard seeing anyone slow down the Red Raiders’ offense right now, especially with four-star running back David Gabriel Georges playing the way he is right now.

Prediction: Baylor School 45, Ensworth 31

Bentonville (AR) at Rogers (AR)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 8 p.m. ET
Where: Whitey Smith Stadium, Rogers, Arkansas

Two of the top three ranked high school football teams out of the state of Arkansas meet on Friday night. Bentonville (8-0) is coming off a 48-14 beatdown of Fayetteville last week and the Tigers feature multiple Arkansas Razorback wide receiver pledges in Dequane Prevo and Blair IrvinRogers (7-0) cruised to a 70-14 rout of Springdale last Friday and is led defensively by BYU commit Braxton Lindsey at linebacker. This should be one of the more entertaining games in the country, regardless of the state it’s played in.

Prediction: Rogers 40, Bentonville 34

Hamilton (Ariz.) at No. 13 Basha (Ariz.)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 10 p.m. ET
Where: Jim Wall Stadium, Chandler, Arizona

Arizona’s No. 2 and 3 teams face off in the desert for what should be the state’s Game of the Year. Hamilton (7-0) has looked nearly unstoppable offensively by one of the top Class of 2028 wide receivers in four-star pass catcher Roye Oliver, who has hauled in 52 passes for 1,106 yards and 23 touchdowns. No. 13 nationally ranked Basha has been superb through their first seven games, led by the play of North Texas commit Broderick Vehrs, who has thrown for 1,370 yards and 18 scores. Scoring will be at a premium in Chandler and it’s a literal coin toss when it comes to who might win this one.

Prediction: Hamilton 43, Basha 42

Orange Lutheran (Calif.) at No. 16 Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.)

When: Friday, Oct. 24, 10 p.m. ET
Where: Saddleback College Stadium, Mission Viejo, Calif.

Santa Margarita Catholic (5-3) has won a couple upsets, but they’ll look to avoid one of their own when they face an always dangerous Orange Lutheran (2-6). The Lancers just this past week had to forfeit two games due to an ineligible player. The Eagles are on pace to win seven games, the most since 2017. The Lancers still remain on track to qualify for the CIF playoffs despite the multiple forfeitures under their belt now. Hard to bet against a Carson Palmer-led Eagles team that’s playing elite defensively on a weekly basis.

Prediction: Santa Margarita Catholic 28, Orange Lutheran 13

East St. Louis (Ill.) at No. 2 IMG Academy (Fla.)

When: Saturday, Oct. 25, 12 p.m. ET
Where: IMG Stadium, Bradenton, Fla.

Could IMG Academy (7-0) have a legitimate case to be the No. 1 team in the nation? The Ascenders are coming off a 41-24 win over the NFL Academy of the United Kingdom and now welcomes Illinois’ No. 1 team, East St. Louis, into Bradenton. A dominating victory over the Flyers on Saturday afternoon would wonders for the Ascenders as they continue to try and leapfrog California’s St. John Bosco in the nationally rankings for Massey Ratings and the Rivals National High School Football Composite rankings. We have a funny feeling this one will be a little closer than expected.

Prediction: IMG Academy 31, East St. Louis 22
