National Signing Day: Unsigned blue-chip prospects still remaining on the board

National Signing Day has nearly come and gone, but there’s still a lot left to be decided. The race for the No. 1 class is up in the air — and likely will be until the final player rankings are released next month.

But there’s also plenty of big names still on the board as we reach the end of the day. Multiple five-stars are still unsigned, including Lamar Brown, the country’s top overall recruit. And more than 25 blue-chippers in total haven’t been announced by their new schools.

Rivals breaks down the names to watch over the next few days:

5-star ATH Lamar Brown – LSU

Brown opted not to sign on Wednesday as waits to see what will happen with LSU’s coaching staff under Lane Kiffin. There is optimism is he will still end up with the Bayou Bengals, though.

5-star WR Chris Henry Jr. – Ohio State

According to Rivals’ Greg Biggins, Henry was shocked by Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline’s decision to leave for the head job at USF. He didn’t sign with the Buckeyes, and later announced he was taking his time to go through a final decision. Texas and Oregon are both considered to be the top contenders to flip him right now.

5-star RB Savion Hiter – Michigan

Hiter committed to the Wolverines back in August over Tennessee, Ohio State and Georgia. He went about his recruitment very quietly, so it was a surprise to see him not signed with the Wolverines by the end of today. But according to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong, his camp and the Wolverines are still working out “minor contractual details” and the goal is for him to be signed by Thursday morning.

5-star DL Richard Anderson – LSU

Like Lamar Brown, Anderson initially planned to wait to sign with the Tigers to see how the new coaching staff shook out. But at his ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, he told those in attendance he was in fact signing with LSU. But as of publication of this story, he still has not been announced officially.

5-star WR Jalen Lott – Oregon

Lott “shut down” his recruitment last month, and has been all Ducks since he committed in July. That said, the Ducks still haven’t officially publicized him as part of their class.
