Nation's No. 2 safety Tory Pittman pops commitment for Nebraska

Nebraska coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers kept one of the nation’s top prospects home on Thursday, securing a pledge from Omaha (Neb.) Central blue-chipper Tory Pittman.
Pittman is Rivals No. 2 safety and No. 16 prospect overall. He is the No. 1 player in the state.
“My favorite thing about the Huskers is the culture and how everyone there is all about Nebraska,” Pittman has said.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Pittman visited the nearby campus numerous times including at the end of July for Nebraska’a Battle of the Boneyard 7v7 event.
“The environment in Lincoln was amazing as usual, and competitive for the players,” Pittman said of the atmosphere.

Pittman is commit No. 2 for Nebraska in the 2027 class joining fellow blue-chipper Trae Taylor. He chose to play for the Huskers over LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State and many others.
Pittman had a great visit during the past season for the win over Rutgers as well.
”My experience was great,” he said. “We won and played well but also the atmosphere was filled with energy.
“What excites me is building that relationship with the coaches who I know will develop me to be a better player.”
