No. 2 ranked JUCO edge Jalen Anderson commits to Florida State

Pearl River Community College edge rusher Jalen Anderson announced his commitment to Florida State on Monday following his weekend official visit to Tallahassee.
The 6-foot-3, 241-pound Anderson also strongly considered Vanderbilt and had offers from Illinois, Nebraska and Arizona State among others.
Tabbed by the Rivals Industry as the No. 2 JUCO prospect and No. 6 prospect overall, Anderson adds to a FSU class previously ranked No. 14 nationally.
“The visit to Florida State was great,” Anderson said. “The biggest thing for me was seeing how everything operates up close. The energy around the program is real, and the staff showed me exactly how they see me fitting into what they’re building.

“I really liked Coach Norvell — his energy is different, you can tell everything he says comes from a real place. Coach Knighton, Coach Odell Haggins, and Coach Ris (Devin Rispress) all made the weekend about as close to perfect as it could be. I felt really well taken care of and like I belonged and felt comfortable in a future as a FSU Seminole. A lot of credit to Coach Ris. They took the time to break down how I’d fit as a Nole and how they’d want me to come in and bring instant disruption.
“The resources stood out too — academics, strength and conditioning, recovery, nutrition, all of it. It felt like a place built to develop players on and off the field. Overall it was a strong visit and exciting opportunity.”
As a sophomore Anderson posted 50 tackles, 12.5 stops for loss and seven sacks with three forced fumbles.
