Notre Dame lands commitment from elite 2027 CB prospect Xavier Hasan, talks pledge to Irish
Raleigh (NC) Cardinal Gibbons Rivals300 2027 cornerback Xavier Hasan has committed to Notre Dame.
The blue-chipper and Rivals No. 4 ranked cornerback and No. 27 prospect overall chose to play for head coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish over Florida State, Ohio State, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Hasan said he felt like Notre Dame was the right place for him when he visited in September and his return in November for the win over Navy reiterated that.
“It felt really good,” Hasan said. “I was talking and thinking about it for months. It felt right for this moment.
“What made Notre Dame right for me is the way they recruited me and talked to me honestly. I love everything about the school and campus. The life after the football and the way they take care of their players that means a lot.”

Mike Mickens was the lead recruiter for Hasan who becomes commit No. 9 for Notre Dame in the 2027 class.
“The fact that Coach Mickens has recruited all these great DBs, especially a guy like Sauce Gardner,” Hasan said. “He recruited him and developed him into the player he is today. Leonard Moore, Benjamin Morrison, Christian Gray, those are the type of guys I want to surround myself with. Good ballplayers so I can become a great ballplayer.”
Notre Dame signed Rivals No. 2 ranked class in 2026 and prior to Hasan’s pledge sat at No. 6 in the Rivals Industry Standings for 2027. Freeman had a big impact on his process as well.
“The way he leads a team,” Hasan said. “He’s a great coach. I like the way he just talks to people. He knows how to lead men. That’s something I’m looking for, a great leader.”
Rivals ranks Hasan as the No. 1 recruit in North Carolina. He has 10 interceptions over the last two seasons and he returned two kicks for touchdowns this fall.
