Cibolo (Texas) Steele Rivals300 running back Jonathan Hatton Jr. has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M back to Oklahoma, bringing his process full circle.

The Aggies turned Hatton their way in March but with just over a week until the three-day National Signing Day period begins on Dec. 3, he found his way back to Brent Venables and the Sooners.

”Personal reasons is really all I can say! A&M is a great place and will be really good.”

Running backs coach DeMarco Murray is the lead recruiter for the four-star Hatton who becomes commit No. 23 for Oklahoma in the 2026 class. Hatton ranks as the Rivals Industry’s No. 5 running back and No. 83 prospect overall.

“The environment at those games is unbelievable, and it is like a family over there at Oklahoma,” Hatton has told Rivals Hayes Fawcett in the past. “It’s like a brotherhood and just feels like home.”

As a senior Steele carried 159 times for 1,308 yards and 16 touchdowns. He rushed for 1,147 yards and 14 scores as a junior.

Hatton adds to a class Rivals previously ranked No. 19 nationally.
