Ole Miss lands a commitment from 4-star EDGE Landon Barnes: 'I felt the love from the staff'

Duncanville (Texas) EDGE Landon Barnes has over two dozen offers. LSU, Ohio State, SMU and Washington were on his list, but the four-star has committed to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.
He took an official visit to Oxford earlier this month and the Rebels have landed a top target.
“They have a great plan for me at Ole Miss,” Barnes told Rivals. “They have recruited me hard, I see it as a perfect fit and the relationships I have with the coaches there are real.”
Randall Joyner is the lead recruiter. Pete Golding and other staffers were heavily involved too. They all played a role in his decision.
“I felt the love from the staff. They showed great love and a lot of energy toward me. The people [at Ole Miss] really got to know me well and it showed me a lot as a recruit. I was there for a spring practice, then for an official visit and the energy was always there. They showed me that they wanted me.”

Ole Miss finished 10-3 last season with a big win over Georgia at home. Barnes sees big things coming on the Grove in the coming years.
“I am from Louisiana, I know about SEC football and Ole Miss is playing great,” Barnes said. “The staff and the players are like-minded, they compete hard and they are going to win big games. Ole Miss develops players and the program is moving up.”
