On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Previewing this weekend's commitments

With the 2024 cycle now fully in effect, there are a number of early commitments being made over the next few weeks.

Just in the next few days alone, five top 2024 recruits are set to come off the board and a 2023 target will make his final decision between a couple of Lone Star State programs. With the help of the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), we’ll preview each of the expected announcements.

Thursday, February 2

4-star S Jacob Oden
School: Harper Woods (Mich.)
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 173
On3 RPM: Michigan 95.7%, Notre Dame 1.4%

The Skinny: Oden will choose between finalists Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Tennessee, but it’s the in-state Wolverines who are considered the heavy favorites.

Friday, February 3

4-star ATH Mazeo Bennett
School: Greenville (S.C.)
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 199
On3 RPM: South Carolina 91.8%, Tennessee 1.9%

The Skinny: Bennett, one of the top athletes in the country, made an early commitment to Tennessee back in November, but he backed off of that only two months later. The in-state Gamecocks, who have been on a recruiting heater over the past month, are now the heavy favorites to keep him home.

4-star S Warren Roberson (2023)
School: Red Oak (Texas)
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 270
On3 RPM: Texas (flip) 97.2%

The Skinny: Roberson is still committed to TCU, but he never signed with the Horned Frogs during the Early Signing Period. Texas has made a move late, and all signs point to him joining the Longhorns’ top-five 2023 class.

4-star QB Walker White
School: Little Rock (Ark.) Christian Academy
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 165
On3 RPM: Clemson 68.0%, Ole Miss 27.4%

The Skinny: One of the top 2024 passers in the country, White visited Auburn, Baylor, Clemson and Arkansas in the month of January. But his most recent visit with the Tigers and new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley has them in prime position to land him.

Saturday, February 4

4-star ATH Ju’Juan Johnson
School: Lafayette (La.) Christian Academy
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 195
On3 RPM: Colorado 97%

The Skinny: Johnson had been trending heavily toward the Tigers for a few months, but Colorado recently emerged as the heavy favorite to land his commitment according to the On3 RPM. He just visited the Buffaloes last weekend, and new head coach Deion Sanders has a lot of momentum behind him right now in Boulder.

3-star CB Leonard Moore
School: Round Rock (Texas)
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 394
On3 RPM: Notre Dame 98.7%

The Skinny: Moore has largely been quiet on the recruiting trail, but the Fighting Irish identified him as one of their top cornerback targets. At 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, he has great length and athletic ability for the next level.
