Oregon has top-three class after landing another huge commitment

Oregon stayed hot on the recruiting trail on Saturday, landing a commitment from Corona (Calif.) Oaks Christian four-star cornerback Davon Benjamin.
The No. 22 overall prospect and top-ranked corner in the 2026 Rivals300, Benjamin chose the Ducks over Michigan, Texas, North Carolina and Washington. He’s the second elite addition to the Oregon class this week, following Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s Episcopal five-star EDGE Anthony Jones, who pledged on Thursday.
With Benjamin now in the mix, Oregon now has the No. 3 recruiting class in the nation, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. It jumped Texas A&M, Texas and Notre Dame and now has eight top-100 prospects in the mix in Eugene.
“I can see myself enjoying really just being there,” Benjamin previously told Rivals about the Big Ten program. “Of course, everybody’s going to make it seem like it’s flashy for the uniforms and all that but as far as me, it’s a place that you can go with no distractions. It’s a place where you can be yourself off the field, have great people around you that’s going to push you every day at practice, and, like I said, the coaching stability up there. It’s been the same people I’ve been talking to ever since my freshman year.”
Oregon’s loaded class still features just 17 commitments, meaning there’s still more to add as head coach Dan Lanning and Co. gun for the top spot in the team rankings this cycle.
Looking at Oregon’s 2026 class
Baltimore Georgetown Prep Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho headlines as the nation’s No. 6 overall prospect and No. 2 OT. He joined the fold on July 3, choosing the Ducks over Auburn, LSU and Penn State.
“It was a very tough decision because so many different schools had my attention, but the small things added up and led me to Oregon,” Iheanacho told Rivals. “I got on campus three times, I got to know the coaches, my parents saw the area and I knew it was is the right fit.”

Iheanacho is now one of a whopping four five-stars in the class. Las Vegas Bishop Gorman five-star safety Jett Washington pledged in June and is the nation’s No. 1 safety. Reidsville (N.C.) five-star tight end Kendre Harrison, who doubles as a blue-chip basketball prospect, has been in the mix since the end of November and remains the No. 2 tight end in the cycle. Jones, the No. 22 recruit and No. 4 EDGE, is now in the fold, too.
The spine of the Oregon class has featured Scottsdale (Ariz.) Willamette four-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland since Sept. 2023, while Texarkana (Texas) Texas High four-star running back Tradarian Ball has been pledged since last July. Both remain top-100 prospects and the No. 7 player at their respective positions.
Last month also featured commitments from Lucas (Texas) Panther Creek four-star athlete Jalen Lott, Sacramento Archbishop Riordan four-star interior offensive lineman Tommy Tofi and Winter Garden (Fla.) First Academy four-star safety Devin Jackson. The nation’s No. 11 wide receiver Messiah Hampton and Rivals’ No. 5 quarterback Bryson Beaver both committed in June.
Three other blue-chippers are in the fold to date: San Diego Lincoln four-star EDGE Prince Tavizon, Ventura (Calif.) four-star linebacker Tristan Phillips and Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie four-star safety Xavier Lherisse.
