Preseason New Hampshire High School Football Top 25 Rankings

All around the New England region, high school football fever has taken over as programs prepare to kickoff the 2025 season. New Hampshire features some of the area’s top football programs annually and this fall looks to be no different.
The Granite State produces some of the top talent out of the region, with numerous private schools leading the way in the state when it comes to winning state championships. Here’s how the Massey Ratings ranked New Hampshire’s Top 25 high school football teams for 2025.
The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
1. Phillips Exeter Academy
The No. 1 ranked team in the state is apart of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC), which features many of the top prep schools in the New England region. Phillips Exeter Academy is coming off a 8-1 season in which the only loss they suffered was a 42-28 loss to Massachusetts’ top-ranked Williston Northhampton School. Offensively, the Lions are led up on the line of scrimmage by 2026 three-star Marek Jin, who is committed to Boston College.
2. Pinkerton Academy
Pinkerton Academy head coach Brian O’Reilly has won 357 games throughout his tenure as a high school football and the most recent one from last year was the most sweetest. A dominating 42-7 victory over Londonderry Senior in the NHIAA Division I state championship game last fall made O’Reilly the winningest head coach in New Hampshire’s history as the Astros set their sights on claiming another title. Leading the offense is talented 2026 6-foot-4, 215-pound tight end Anthony Caruso, who caught 19 passes for 229 yards last season.
3. Bedford
Bedford saw Pinkerton (above) snap a 26-game winning streak, stopping them in their tracks as the Bulldogs were looking to win the program’s third state championship. With Bedford now coming off a season in where they didn’t win it all, they’ll need to lean upon an experienced offensive line led by 2026 lineman Connor Flaherty. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman holds five Division I offers, including overtures from Akron, Merrimack and New Haven.
4. Londonderry Senior
Finishing as the state’s Division I runnerup to Pinkerton Academy was the Lancers, whose only three losses last season came against the Astros and to St. Paul’s School, respectively. Londonderry Senior will be a contender back in the mix, with an offense that challenged opposing defenses to the tune of 27.5 points per game. Londonderry Senior will start off the 2025 season on the road against Alvirne on Sep. 5.
5. St. Paul’s School
Rounding out the Top 5 is the Big Red, who are another schools that plays within the NEPSAC in their Class B division. St. Paul’s School ran the table last season to a 9-0 record and with a similar slate of games, could see another undefeated campaign by the end of the fall. Back at the controls of the offense is 2027 quarterback Webber Marx, who threw for 1,192 yards and 17 touchdowns last season.
