Quarterback of South Florida powerhouse program Mason Mallory driving toward another state title

Westchester, Fla. — St. Thomas Aquinas is on a mission to win its seventh consecutive state championship. The South Florida powerhouse program is the model of consistency in the state, and perhaps the most consistent player on the team is 2026 quarterback Mason Mallory. St. Thomas made it look easy against state title contender Columbus last Friday in a 42-7 running clock win.
“Every week, we come with a different philosophy, and they just believe in me to take control of the offense, and it showed today,” Mallory said after the game. “We executed perfectly, offensively, defensively, and special teams, and the scoreboard reflected it.”
The six-foot-two, 195-pound dual-threat QB completed 17 of his 21 passes (81%) for 232 yards, throwing for two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed three times for 47 yards. Many questioned if Mallory, who transferred from 2024 state champions West Boca in the offseason, made the right move.
“A lot of people were questioning my moves, and questioning if I was even going to play this year, but I know I’m a hard worker, and I knew I was going to get it done, and I know with the type of program St. Thomas runs, I was going to be successful regardless. I’m blessed to be in this position right now. We’re only going to get better throughout the year.”
In game one of the 2025 season, Mallory quickly showed his worth and nearly engineered a comeback to beat the defending national champions, Mater Dei, in a 26-23 loss.

“After the loss, obviously, everybody was upset, but we gave ourselves a 24-hour rule to either dwell on or celebrate over a game. These wins that we are racking up right now are just bettering us in the future to make a deep playoff run and win a state championship.”
Despite the Mater Dei game being televised on ESPN and two solid wins over Boyd Anderson (72-6) and Columbus, Mallory continues to fly under the radar for major programs. Ivy League schools Yale, Harvard, and Columbia are interested, along with Arkansas State and Holy Cross.
“It’s been pretty mellow right now with the season starting. Right now, I’m just letting God take its course. At the end of the day, I know I’ll end up where I’m supposed to be.”
On September 26th, Mallory intends to be at Yale for its game with Cornell.
“I’m just focused on winning a state championship. Bringing the seventh straight title to this school.”
