Parity is as prevalent as ever in the Big 12 and that has led to a slew of different programs in the conference making their presence felt on the recruiting trail.

In the 2026 cycle, the 16 Big 12 programs have combined to land commitments from 37 blue-chip prospects, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. All but two schools in the conference have a four or five-star in their class to date.

As flip season approaches, Rivals is looking at how every team in the Big 12 stacks up in terms of blue-chip percentage (4- and 5-star commits divided by total number of pledges).

Colorado – 31%

Deion Sanders and his staff are yet to sign a hefty high school class, but they have landed some premier blue-chippers across the last few cycles. So far in the 2026 cycle, they have just 13 commits, three of which are now industry four-stars: defensive lineman Emanuel Ruffin, cornerback Preston Ashley and linebacker Rodney Colton. Ruffin is one of the latest additions to the class following his commitment earlier this week on Sept. 23.

Baylor – 25%

The Bears have always leaned on recruiting the Lone Star State and Dave Aranda’s staff have done a great job on that front this cycle. Of the 16 commits in Baylor’s class thus far, 12 hail from Texas. That includes three of the four four-stars that headline the haul in Waco. EDGE Jamarion Carlton sits atop the pledge list as the No. 60 recruit nationally, while cornerback Jamarion Vincent is the No. 17 CB in the nation.

Arizona State – 24%

Arizona State did plenty of work on the trail this spring, though its biggest recruiting win of the cycle came over a year ago last September, as it snatched an early pledge from four-star quarterback Jake Fette. The 6-foot-1 gunslinger has risen up the rankings and now checks in as the No. 81 recruit overall and No. 7 QB. Fette is flanked at the top of the class by two other four-stars in tight end Hayden Vercher and EDGE Julian Hugo.

BYU – 20%

Kalani Sitake and the Cougars continue to recruit the Mountain West well, as represented by four-star in-state commits in tight end Brock Harris and interior offensive lineman Bott Mulitalo. Harris is a top-100 recruit and the No. 5 TE in the cycle. He of course checks in behind California five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons, the nation’s No. 5 QB. While Lyons is set to take an LDS mission trip and won’t enroll until the spring of 2027, he has the makings of a future star in Provo.

Texas Tech – 20%

The Red Raiders are already getting a head start on building an elite class in the 2027 cycle, one that could build on an impressive haul that’s been put together this summer by Joey McGuire and his staff. Texas Tech swooped in for five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo, the No. 11 overall prospect, in July, and he headlines alongside three four-stars, including wide receiver Chase Campbell, Rivals’ No. 11 pass-catcher, and offensive tackle Bryce Gilmore, who recently pledged after decommitting from Arkansas.

Houston – 19%

Since May of 2024, Houston has held a commitment from local five-star quarterback Keisean Henderson. Once listed as an athlete, Henderson has proven that he’s capable of guiding a college program under center and he intends on doing so right down the road for the Cougars. He’s now the No. 14 overall prospect and is joined at the top of the class by four-star wide receiver Jayden Warren and four-star athlete Paris Melvin.
