One of the top arms in the 2027 quarterback class, Teddy Jarrard, is ready to make his college commitment.

On Monday, he told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett that he will announce his decision later this week on July 24. When that time comes, he’ll choose between Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State — a group of schools he named as his top five last week.

“After my period of going to camps and stuff and figuring all that out, I narrowed it down to the schools that stood out to me and pushed for me and in general where I thought I’d fit development wise,” Jarrard told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong of his top programs.

In the interview with Wiltfong, he broke down each of the five contenders

Georgia: “Georgia — it’s the home state. My uncle played there. What Coach (Mike) Bobo has been doing along with Coach (Brandon) Streeter they’ve seen me throw and I’ve worked out for them a lot and it’s been there for me and I think I fit in.”

Michigan: “Coach (Sherrone) Moore and Coach (Chip) Lindsey have been great. Especially Coach Lindsey. Him coaching Georgia high school football, the relationship is there. I think what they’re doing there with the quarterbacks, I think it would be a good situation going in with Bryce (Underwood) and I wouldn’t be there for two more years.”

Notre Dame: “Coach Gino and Coach Freeman have been really transparent with me and they’ve been great as well. They’re another program I’d fit in scheme wise and they develop their guys pretty well. Those are the two main things I’m looking for.”

Ohio State: “Coach (Billy) Fessler, he’s started to get on me in the spring, ending up offering me. I went up there and threw for him again. Coach (Ryan) Day is a quarterback guy and you don’t see that out of many head coaches working with the quarterbacks. That’s a big upside with Ohio State. You’re going to get the best development there as well.”

Penn State: “Coach (Danny) O’Brien as well as (Trace) McSorley is up there now. They along with Coach (James) Franklin have all been great with quarterbacks. They’re not very transfer portal heavy which is another big thing at the quarterback position. They’re a good school that would develop me as a quarterback and I can go in and play.”

With a little more than 72 hours until Jarrard announces on the Rivals YouTube channel, it’s Notre Dame that is trending as the favorite for the country’s No. 2 quarterback.

Wiltfong, along with BlueandGold.com’s Mike Singer, have logged expert predictions in ND’s favor. And all of the buzz sits around South Bend after his visit there this summer impressed both he and his parents.

“I like where Notre Dame stands and have logged a prediction to reflect that,” said Wiltfong. “No head coach is recruiting Jarrard harder than Freeman. He had a great visit to South Bend, and his parents like the program.”
