Texas A&M already has elite DB haul in 2027 cycle

Fresh off an improbable comeback victory over South Carolina on Saturday, Texas A&M remains undefeated this season and it has some serious momentum on the recruiting trail.
As the Aggies aim to put the finishing touches on a top-10 class in the 2026 cycle, they’re already making big moves in the class of 2027, too. Another standout junior pledge went public on Sunday.
Waxahachie (Texas) four-star safety JayQuan Snell was back in College Station this weekend for his third trip to A&M this season. He left locked in with head coach Mike Elko and Co.
“It hasn’t just been the recruiting part; it’s the way they’ve been genuine with me and have stayed consistent,” Snell told Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman. “They’ve made me feel like I’m truly wanted and that I’d be a big part of what they’re building.
Snell is the No. 48 overall prospect, No. 5 safety and No. 8 junior in Texas, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He also checks in as the No. 29 recruit in the Rivals300.
His decision gives the Aggies seven commitments already in the 2027 cycle. The SEC program is setting the table for a run at another No. 1 class and an elite defensive back haul highlights the early pledge list.

Snell joins two other top-100 DBs
November has treated A&M well on the recruiting front. It got started on the first of the month when Hampton (Ga.) four-star safety Kamarui Dorsey locked in his commitment. Dorsey is the No. 12 recruit and top-ranked safety in the Rivals300.
“What made Texas A&M right for me is that they fitted what I needed and wanted as a football player and as a regular human off the field as well,” Dorsey told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong about his decision. “When I say you could be yourself around everyone and everyone was so down to earth and wanted so much for me and their players that are there not only on the field but also of the field.”
Before A&M kicked off on Saturday, it was greeted with more good news. Baltimore St. Frances Academy four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry jumped in the fold, choosing the Aggies over Ohio State and Alabama. He’s the No. 49 prospect and No. 8 corner early on in the cycle.
Snell now gives Elko, Ishmael Aristide and the Aggies another big win in the secondary. There’s already some firepower on the other side of the ball in the class, too. Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong has the latest intel on A&M’s push for another top-ranked recruiting class.
