Texas A&M beats Tennessee for touted edge Tristian Givens, adding to top five recruiting class

Columbus (Ga.) Carver On300 edge rusher Tristian Givens has announced his commitment to Texas A&M during an official visit to College Station.
The four-star Givens chose the Aggies over Tennessee and many others. He also strongly considered Florida State and USC.
Givens becomes commit No. 19 for head coach Mike Elko and his Texas A&M staff in the 2026 class. This is one of the best classes in America as the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Givens adds to a haul previously ranked No. 5 nationally.
Givens is now one of the jewels. The On3 Industry tabs him the No. 9 edge and No. 49 prospect overall. He is the third Top 50 prospect to join the fold in the last week as top-ranked cornerback Brandon Arrington and the No. 4 running back in the land KJ Edwards also jumped in the fold.

Tristian Givens is a high-upside pickup for Texas A&M
Over the last two seasons Givens has racked up 30 sacks for one of the Peach State’s top programs.
“What I love about Tristian is his potential really,” Carver head coach Jarvis Jones said. He was an All-American linebacker at Georgia before hearing his name called in the first round of the NFL Draft. “I love the attention he gives me, a very coachable kid with a growth mindset. Wants to get better and wants to learn. He’s the type of guy that gives great effort.
“I think Tristian is a leader. He shows great leadership so far since I’ve been in the head coaching role at Carver. I’m really excited to watch his growth.”
Jones also talked about the traits Givens will bring to Texas A&M.
“First and foremost you can tell he loves the game,” Jones said. “He’s big, fast, he plays the game violently. The way you’re supposed to play it. He’s athletic, he can move, he can make plays on his feet. He can put his hand in the dirt. I think he’s able to play in space and drop in coverage.
“He’s a big, fast athlete that can do many things.”
