Three-star WR Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte decommits from Nebraska

Nebraska has suffered a loss to its 2026 recruiting class.
Three-star wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte from Sioux Falls (SD) Washington announced on social media that he was backing off his pledge to Nebraska.
“After much thought and prayerful consideration. I’ve decided to reopen my recruitment,” Bonwell-White said in an X post.
“Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
There was some uncertainty with Bonwell-Witte’s status as a commit entering his senior year. Nebraska was monitoring his production in the fall very closely. The three-star suffered a season-ending injury early last year and missed his entire junior year.

Nebraska’s offensive staff turned over and the wide receivers coach Bonwell-Witte committed to is no longer on staff. The offensive coordinator the wideout committed to is now the tight ends coach and the Huskers have picked up two other wide receiver commits.
Georgia native Nalin Scott is in the class and was on campus this weekend. Florida native Larry Miles is also still in the class and also visited for the matchup with Michigan. The recruits that were in Lincoln over the weekend still feel like Nebraska is building something special in Lincoln under coach Matt Rhule. In another interesting twist, Nebraska did offer rising 2026 wide receiver Milan Parris out of Ohio on Monday.
This 2026 class will be a smaller group for Nebraska but I expect the team to still take one more high school receiver this cycle. The team has been loading up for a big run in the 2027 class though with many of it’s top targets having visited campus already.
