He becomes KU’s fourth commitment in the 2026 class. He joins four-star PG Tay Kinney (No. 15 NATL), four-star PF Davion Adkins (No. 32 NATL), and four-star SF Trent Perry (No. 102 NATL).
Rivals National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw evaluated Barnett this summer and had this to say about him:
Luke Barnett found his way with the Arizona Unity program this summer by making some big shots. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard knocked down just over 36 percent of his 6.7 threes attempted on Nike’s EYBL Circuit. He has good footwork and a quiet base, along with a lot of confidence and consistent release, no matter stepping into it or shooting off movement. He shot on volume and was a consistent scorer this summer.
