Top 2026 recruit Missy Odom commits to Florida State
Top 2026 recruit Missy Odom has committed to Florida State for both basketball and softball. The 6-2 forward from Jasper (AL) Montverde Academy chose the Seminoles over Texas Tech, Ohio State, UCF and Auburn.
“I love their coaching staff,” Odom previously told Rivals. Coach Brooke [Wyckoff] and Coach [Morgan] Toles and all them, they’ve been supportive of me trying to do both. They’ve been talking to the softball program as well and they’ve been communicating with me. I think just getting them on board with me doing both is gonna be awesome as well.”

Florida State is getting a versatile scoring threat in Odom.
“I think I can shoot the ball really well and I’m physical down low, so I can play at the post too,” Odom told Rivals. “I’m very physical down there and I can run the floor well. I’d say I’m versatile.”
Odom is a dual-sport athlete, playing softball as well, and the ability to play both sports at the collegiate level was a factor in her recruitment, she told Rivals. Florida State has been one of the most successful softball programs in the history of collegiate softball.
