Top 2026 recruit Rieyan DeSouze commits to Texas A&M

Heavily recruited 2026 recruit Rieyan DeSouze has committed to Texas A&M, she announced on Wednesday night. The 5-foot-6 point guard from Glenn Heights (Texas) DeSoto High School chose the Aggies over Arizona, SMU, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, West Virginia and Auburn.
“I’m looking for a college town,” DeSouze previously told Rivals. “I also want to watch the teams practice and see how I’d be able to fit in, as well as seeing how the coaches get involved in practice. Those are a couple main things.”

Texas A&M is getting a versatile point guard in DeSouze.
“My 3-point shot,” DeSouze said of what she improved upon the most this season. “I feel like everybody knows I have a pretty high IQ and can pass the ball and play defense pretty well. I’ve been working on my 3-point shot so that I can become more of a threat on offense, so people have to guard me. Then when they do that, I’m able to just blow by and get people open.”
In a previous conversation, DeSouze talked to Rivals about her official visit with the Aggies.
“It was great,” she said. “They’ve recruited me since 8th grade, so I’ve built a pretty strong relationship with them as well. The coaching staff has been pretty steady and consistent with me, so I really did enjoy my time there.”
