<p>Wilson will ultimately make his college decision between <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/alabama-crimson-tide/">Alabama</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/georgia-bulldogs/">Georgia</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/miami-hurricanes/">Miami</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/ohio-state-buckeyes/">Ohio State</a> and <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/">Texas</a>.</p>



<p>The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder is the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/consensus-player/football/2023/">On3 Consensus</a>, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 8 EDGE and the No. 13 senior player in Florida. </p>

<p>According to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/damon-wilson-28748/industry-comparison/">Industry Comparison</a> though, On3 is higher on him than the other major recruiting sites. In the most recent <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/player/football/2023/">On300 rankings</a>, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 21 prospect, just outside five-star status. </p>



<p>Despite his lofty rankings, Wilson has led one of the quietest recruitments in the country thus far. He has taken one official visit — a trip to Alabama in mid-June — but has otherwise remained off the radar. Alabama is currently considered the favorite to land him by the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/damon-wilson-28748/recruiting/125792/rpm/">On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM)</a> with Miami and Ohio State trailing behind. </p>



<p><a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/alabama-crimson-tide/news/sought-after-edge-damon-wilson-discusses-alabama-visit/">He told On3’s Joseph Hastings</a> in June that he plans on using official visits to Miami and Ohio State and is undecided on the other two; Georgia may not receive one as he took a four-day unofficial visit to Athens from June 9-12. He expects to make a commitment in December, potentially around the Early Signing Period. </p>

<p>Disruptive pass rusher with one of the best first steps in the 2023 cycle. Bursts off the snap and is often in the backfield before opposing offensive linemen are out of their stance. Owns a solid build, checking in at nearly 6-foot-4, 230 pounds prior to his junior season with adequate length. Tests as a good athlete in the combine setting but plays quicker than his times indicate. Shows the ability to bend and dip around the edge, in addition to the outstanding first step. Plays for a top high school program in Florida. Has turned in strong production with 15 sacks as a junior.
