Touted Baylor DL commit Jamarion Carlton has superb senior season for Temple (Texas)

Jamarion Carlton left it all on the field in his senior season for Temple High School.
The Wildcats went 7-4 this season and are no longer competing for a Texas high school football state title, but they did have one of the top defensive prospects in the state on their side. Carlton has been touted for some time, but the defensive lineman bolstered his stock once again this fall.
On Tuesday, he took to social media to showcase his senior season stats. He notched 68 total tackles, had 21 quarterback hurries, five sacks, six pass-breakups and a forced fumble, among other impressive numbers.
Temple rattled off a pair of winning streaks this season. It began 4-0, lost a pair of games, then won three in a row, then lost its final regular season game to Harker Heights. Last week, the Wildcats lost to Duncanville in the first round of the UIL 6A Division I playoffs.
Carlton dominating should surprise no one. The blue-chip Baylor commit turned scouts’ heads in the past and he continues to look like a massive get for Dave Aranda and the Bears.
Carlton committed to Baylor on July 10, choosing it over Texas, Texas Tech and LSU. He’s remained locked in with the Bears and still sits atop their pledge list with National Signing Day just a couple of weeks away. The Longhorns continue to charge for his pledge down the stretch, according to Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman.

“That coaching staff there and what they’re building … it’s nice down there,” Carlton said of BU upon committing. “The whole staff made me feel like I was a priority and that getting me there was the main thing — and that was big regardless. It’s home and it feels like home.”
Carlton is now the No. 63 overall prospect and No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 10 player in Texas.
